Fundado em 1968 como uma competição de bandas pelos Petards

Festival Burg Herzberg 2017

O primeiro festival aconteceu como um dos primeiros festivais hippie ao ar livre na Alemanha em 7 de julho de 1968 no Castelo de Herzberg , perto de Alsfeld, em Hesse . Para compensar as perdas causadas pelo fracasso, a equipe do evento lançou uma campanha StartNext, uma campanha de ajuda online para artistas e trabalhadores culturais afetados pela crise Corona.
